2021.07.01 Speedwork S.V. Polizei Wien (08)

Shortly before the long-awaited start of our summer running weeks in Kals, our first athletes from Kenya have now arrived in Vienna and are experiencing ideal training conditions here, until they depart again for East Tyrol.

Herzlichen Dank unserem neuen Trainigskooperationspartner POLIZEI S.V. – Asante sana!

Our current top athlete Purity Kajuju GITONGA, who recently improved her personal best over 5,000m to 15:17.54 at the track event in Nice (as reported by us), was thrilled with the track and the hospitality of POLICE SPORTS CLUB.

This is what she told us: “The track training session today was good and amazing. I am preparing for my coming 1500m competition in Italy. I was pushing together with my mate Geoffrey and I was running the 400m*4 super fast with 63sec and 200m*6 with 30sec. The training was great, because the track was amazing and the weather was good as well. We did the speed work today at POLIZEISPORTTEAM and we met the manager Robert Angerer who was so friendly. He was happy to see Kenyan Athletes and we were happy to meet him as well as we were guided by Thomas KRATKY. The manager Robert also invited us to come back again whenever we have to do speed work. It was a good workout for us today”.

Githuku Geoffrey CHEGE, well known and loved by our members and guests in Kiambogoand Kals, was also impressed by the ideal training conditions.

On another occasion, with the great support of our run2gether members in Vienna, our athletes Gilbert Kiprotich KEMOI and John Njuguna KURIA did their training in Oberlaa and also did long runs on Vienna’s “Danube Island”.

And now it’s off to Kals for our summer running weeks! Our athletes and the whole run2gether team are looking forward to seeing you. There are still some spaces available!
