Deutschsprachiger Bericht mit englischen Originaltexten

Am 29. November 2025 konnte – dank vieler Unterstützer:innen und Helfer:innen und insbesondere durch die Initiative von Anke und Marco, beide selbst Ärzte (siehe auch Projektinitiative) – eines unserer wichtigsten und zugleich anspruchsvollsten Sozialprojekte der vergangenen Monate erfolgreich umgesetzt werden: das run2gether Health Project 2025 in Kiambogo.

Insgesamt 185 Patientinnen und Patienten mit chronischen Erkrankungen – darunter Diabetes, Bluthochdruck, Epilepsie und Arthritis – konnten an diesem Tag in den Gesundheitsstationen Sision und Munyu mit Medikamenten versorgt werden. Für viele von ihnen sind lebenswichtige Medikamente kaum leistbar: Die monatlichen Kosten können bis zu 9.000 KES (ca. EUR 60) betragen – bei einem durchschnittlichen Monatseinkommen von EUR 50 bis 150 für viele Familien schlicht nicht finanzierbar.

Bestens vorbereitet von unserem Verantwortlichen für Sozialprojekte, Peter Chege WANGARI, wurde ein Team aus drei Sozialarbeiter:innen, acht Assistent:innen und zwei Krankenpflegern zusammengestellt. Mit Motorrädern brachten sie die Medikamente zu jenen Patient:innen, die selbst nicht zu einer der beiden Krankenstationen kommen konnten.

Bericht von Peter Chege WANGARI

After more than 5 months of preparation finally it was possible to realize one of our very important project, health project. From lots of challenges to acquire data and statistics, informing the ministry and have a team of more than 8 assistant and 2 nurses the project would not have worked.

On 29th November 2025 this was our long waited day, all was set and exercise started at 9am in our two facilities Sision and Munyu dispensary. A total of 185 patients who have chronic illnesses e.g. diabetes, blood pressure etc were already at the gates before 9am. Our 3 social workers team were energetic and ready for the day, ready with motorcycle to bring patients who could not make it to the facilities to and back home.

The project brought hope and relief to many as I quote from one nurse … “this drugs are expensive and some of the patients spend kshs 9,000 per month…”. This could be felt also when the patients were requested by the nurse to give out their prescription from their physician.

This project gave us a lesson how health cases are spreaded in our area and how careful it should be done in such a case of similar project.

Lastly in my view there are hundreds of cases in the village that aren’t attended to and health project should always involve physician and patients, patients health matters before being given drugs.

Our patients a happy soul, joy, smiles brought hope to us that all is well and as you jokingly said this are our daily sweet. We wish you better health and be strong that we are together in this.

Statement von Samuel MIGWI, Leiter der Krankenstation Sision

This is one of the best ideas I have ever seen. You are amazing guys. Today we have seen a multitude of patients from the community who are diabetic/hypertensive/epileptic/arthritis patients. Most of them lack financial help to buy medication thus leading to defaulting on treatment. This leads to health complications that are usually difficult to manage.
