Changes to the Team

Part Of The Run2gether Team

Our team undergoes some small changes from year to year since contracts with our Kenyan runners can only be made on an annual basis. We do everything we can to nurture our runners from an early age all the way until they reach the top form. If possible, we like to stand by them throughout their professional careers and even beyond, by employing them in the Run2gether organization. Nonetheless, some athletes occasionally decide to leave the team. In most cases, they’re runners who make it (or are about to make it) into the elite international field and find it hard to resist the, at times, lucrative contracts other managers can offer them. Often, however, such deals end up being advantageous only over the short run, which can be a real eye-opener for many runners. Many of them, in fact, finding themselves in such situations, have asked to rejoin our team. Yet as much as we try to retain our top athletes with the help of our sponsors, we’re just not always able to. That’s one reason why we’re so happy that athletes like Viola JELAGAT, Benard Kiplangat BETT, and Lucy Wambui MURIGI, to name only three, have remained faithful to Run2gether in spite of becoming top elite athletes.
Below, we’ve summed up for you the changes for the 2016 season. There have actually been quite a few this year.
