After the disappointing track event in Nembrio last Thursday, a break was on the agenda for our men, who are staying at Africa&Sport in Varese. Only Julius Kariba NJERI went to Piedmont on Saturday, to an area that is actually known as a winter sports region. The new, demanding competition led over almost 800 metres of altitude from Trivero to the skiing area of Bielmonte.

The start over the 13 km long, uphill course took place in hot temperatures in Trivero in the afternoon. Julius led the field from the start and was soon able to build up a lead. He did not relinquish this lead until the finish at 1,500m and was the first runner to enter the winner’s list of the 1st Trivero-Bielmonte run.
Julius won in 51:12, half a minute ahead of the second Italian on the podium. Congratulations!
